Gateway Flux Battery

A Gateway Flux Battery stores gateway fuel beside a ring and keeps the Core topped up so bursty travel, Port, and Bridge transfers never run the gateway dry.

Yields 2 batteries — a full array is many blocks, so the recipe is bulk-friendly.

Recipe ID: cesg:gateway_flux_battery

  • Place beside a Gateway Frame or Core (or as part of an array that touches the ring)
  • Pump in Teleport Essence or Liquid Eye of Ender — the tank locks to the first fuel piped in (like a Create fluid tank) and rejects the other until emptied
  • The controller tops up the connected Core’s matching tank automatically (push-only; will not overfill past the Core cap)
  • Drain with a pump to reclaim fuel or swap types
  • An orphan array with no reachable Core simply holds its fuel

Batteries assemble into a square-base array, Create fluid-tank style:

  • Capacity scales as block count × capacity per block (default 8000 mB per block; server-configurable)
  • A lone 1×1 does not stack vertically (max height = base width)
  • Pipe into any member — the shared tank fills
  • Breaking a member splits the array and redistributes fluid with no dupe and no loss
  • Growing an array preserves fuel already stored

One-click layer placer: click the top or bottom face of a formed 2×2 or 3×3 with enough batteries in hand to place a full W×W layer. Sneak-place still places one. An obstructed footprint places nothing extra beyond the single vanilla placement.

The battery’s unique value beyond storage is a two-tier fuel priority:

  • Player / entity travel may draw fuel to empty — automation can never strand you
  • Port and Bridge transfers pause once combined fuel would fall below a protected reserve floor (default 1000 mB; server-configurable)

When the reserve would be breached, automation throttles while travel stays available.

Goggles show stored fuel x/y mB. On a multi, also Array: WxWxH. Empty arrays still report capacity (Empty: 0/N mB) so you can read size while building.
